First built during the 16th century, the history of Bhadrajun dates back to the days of the Mahabharata. The place was named Subhadrajun after Subhadra and Arjun, Bhadrajun being a distortion of the original name. There are a number of religious fairs held here annually which offer an insight into the rural lifestyle.
