Delhi | Agra | Gwalior | Bhopal | Sanchi | Maheshwar | Mandu | Mumbai

Definitly not for the first time visitor, this itinerary visits the very heart of central India. The unindustrialized heart covered with thick forests interspersed with ancient forts and palaces. The tour includes the ancient caves in Bhimbhetka. More than 600 rock caves and shelters covered with paintings depicting the life of hunters and gatherers of upper paleolithic times. It also takes you to Sanchi, the largest Buddhist site in the India, which includes the stupas that originally contained relics of the Buddhas disciples. And, on the looking down on the densely forested countryside the ruins of the 23 sq km fort of Mandu. Now home to the leopard and panther, it was once known as the ‘City of Joy’ and redolent with palaces, pools, gardens, and pavilions. The travel is hard, accomodation average, but the rewards of choosing this itinerary are high.
